CREME Paper on New Migrant Businesses receives ISBE 2010 Conference Award

The Centre for Research in Ethnic Minority Entrepreneurship (CREME) has recently received an award from the Institute for Small Business and Entrepreneurship’s (ISBE) 2010 conference for its paper titled Engaging with Super-Diversity: New Migrant Businesses and the Research-Policy Nexus. The paper received the highest marks in the award category of ‘Entrepreneurship in Minority Groups Track’  and can be read by clicking on the URL link. The paper was also voted the second best in the category of ‘Best Conference Paper’.

ISBE, as taken from its website, is the UK’s largest and most well established network for individuals and organisations involved in:

  • Small business and entrepreneurship research
  • Enterprise support and advice
  • Entrepreneurship education
  • Formulation, delivery and evaluation of policy in this area
  • With over 500 members, a network of close to 4,000 and a strong and relevant board, ISBE is at the forefront of developments in this sector. Moreover, at the 2010 conference that was held in London and featured over 200 presentations and 400 paper submissions.

    The paper summarises several of the key findings from the New Migrant business year-long project CREME successfully completed towards the end of 2009.
